Welcome to the Fetter Family-Stan, Patrice, Rodney, Ted, & all the Critters
Please have patience while we rearrange our web presence; we're making a huge bunch of changes. Once the dust settles the family and wildlife rehab stuff will be here; things like holiday pictures, stuff around the house, plants, critters, and what we're doing and so forth. The business side will be separate, but for those of you who land here by accident there will be links here to all of that.
The ultimate goal is to have a bunch of family resources available here to include family history on both sides, family tree info, photos from Way Back When, a selection of Stan's mother's art, and so forth. You'd think this wouldn't take long since none of us have Real Jobs (something with a dependable paycheck at the end of the week and benefits), but we're swamped.

Milestones...The baby wasn't the only event this year:
Patrice graduated in may from Prince George's Community College with dual Associates Degrees in Biology and Secondary Education. She is looking forward to resuming her studies at the University of Maryland in January.Later in May over the Memorial Day weekend, Stan got two fingers crushed when the hood on a piece of construction machinery fell on his hand. He got a ride to the hospital in a state police helicopter (Trooper 7 if you're keeping score) and had a lot of fun. He used to talk to these guys all the time while flying traffic patrol around DC, so it was nice to see the bird from the inside for a change The injury looked pretty awful to start with, but he's essentially recovered. Thankfully, it was his right hand and he's left handed. Our deepest gratitude to the nice folks at the Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department and Prince George's Hospital Center. Five stars to Dr. Wendall Miles of Chevy Chase, the plastic surgeon who just happened to be standing around and stitched Stan up and Southern Maryland Physical Therapy, who taught him to bend those fingers again.

And The Winner Is... No kidding. In Stan's first visit to a classic car show as a participant, he took the Chrysler to the AACA car show in Bowie and tied for third place. (And yes, there WERE more than four cars entered...) |

Rodney got a kayak for his graduation from middle school.
If you look REAL HARD in the middle of the picture, that's Patrice in his
kayak motoring east on Piscataway Creek in late June. This is one of
the prettiest settings I've ever seen, and it's less than five minutes from
where we live.

This is Camp Fetter, otherwise known as the in-laws former motorhome parked at the Smith Landing Campground in Milton, Delaware, just up the road from Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. That's Rodney waving under the canopy and his and Patrice's kayaks. The good news is that after we wound up spending a bunch of time and $$ on the motor home that Patrice's parents gave us, we're now getting to enjoy it. It's kind of nice to have a motel room that you can bring with you, even though it can be cramped at times. (Two adults, Rodney, the dog; you do the math...) |

Soapbox...
On June 9, 2004, a breakdown in communications between the FAA and the DOD led to a huge scare and evacuation of the US Capital. As a result, the feds were about to shoot down a civilian airplane by mistake. They pulled the same stunt on one of my traffic planes in June 2003 and didn't learn anything then either. Read my piece in the op-ed section of the Washington Post.

track of you except them. Go Figure.
This web site is hosted by the Nice Folks at TH Media, who have roots in aviation and radio just like we do. They have bent over backwards to help out and make things work for us, even to the point of solving problems that started elsewhere with (and that didn't get solved by) firms who were getting paid a whole lot more. All customer service should be this way.
